Simplicity. What does that word even mean? We live in a world that simultaneously romanticizes the idea while making it nearly impossible to live out. But there is a simplicity that goes much deeper than a clutter-free home or a capsule wardrobe. Jesus showed us a different way to live in simplicity when He said, “My food is to do the will of My Father and to accomplish His work.” He had a singular focus that directed every decision He made and clarified all of His goals. That is what Biblical simplicity looks like: Confidently doing what God has created or called us to do, without allowing anything to distract us from it. A singular focus. This coming January we will spend four weeks unpacking the concept of Biblical simplicity and how having a singular focus like Jesus will manifest itself practically in our lives today. I hope you can join us at the church Thursdays beginning January 5 at 9:30-11 a.m. (childcare provided) or 6:30-8 p.m. (during middle school group).
