And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them. But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying out in the temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant, and they said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read, “‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies you have prepared praise’?” (Matthew 21:14-16)
Today is Palm Sunday, the day Christians celebrate Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem on the Sunday preceding the Passover. You can read more about the Bystanders who were instrumental in this day nearly 2,000 years ago by following this link. In this hymn recorded in 2021, Joanna Sheppard sings words that remind us of the children who praised Jesus in the Temple just a few day before His crucifixion.
All Glory, Laud, and honor
All glory, laud, and honor,
to thee, Redeemer, King,
to whom the lips of children
made sweet hosannas ring.
Theodulf, Bishop of Orleans

Join the UFC family this Friday as we remember Jesus’ crucifixion with an all-day art display in downtown Eugene (see details above). In the evening we’ll gather at 6:30 p.m. at the church for a time of remembering His sacrifice for us.

Sunday morning we’ll gather at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. for Easter services at UFC. Come early for a seat as we’re expecting a full house for both services as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over death.
