This verse from Psalm 111 connects to Pastor Brett’s teaching this past Sunday from I Timothy 2:8-15 on the condition of our hearts as we gather with our brothers and sisters in corporate worship. We should be asking ourselves whether our hearts are set on gaining personal attention or if our eyes are gazing upward at our God. The psalmist challenges us to approach worship with our whole hearts, holding nothing back. For the church in Ephesus this especially included hidden sins of the heart and outward attention-getting tactics. What is the condition of your heart today? What do you need to confess to the Lord? Are you struggling with hidden sins? God’s grace and mercy is enough for anything you’ve tried to hide. Glance back at Psalm 111 and note a few of God’s characteristics, thanking Him for His provision and unconditional love in your life.
